21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa (金沢21世紀美術館)
The 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art in Kanazawa lets you experience the tranquility of a Turrell Skyspace and stay dry underwater while viewing an undulating sky in Leandro Erlich's Swimming Pool.
A two hour train ride from Osaka on the “Thunderbird” took us past Lake Biwa and onwards to Kanazawa. This city, said to be the modern day Kyoto, houses the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art. This museum is most famous for the “Swimming Pool” exhibition by Leandro Erlich and the James Turrell Room, “Blue Planet Sky”.
